I’ve proudly changed 300+ job seekers’ lives by placing them in the right opportunities in the corporate world. Now, I’m using my recruitment expertise and job search skills to help more business and marketing professionals like you awaken your power and land your dream job.
Ultimately, I got into recruiting to help people get jobs, not filling roles for corporations.
MY RESILIENT JOB SEARCH JOURNEY
In 2018, I quit my sales job to pursue a new passion I had recently discovered—recruiting.
I love recruiting because it allows me to help others get into their dream companies, use my voice to advocate for other underrepresented talents, and make a positive impact in other’s lives.
With that mission, I started my job search journey without any relevant experience. As you can imagine, it was a challenging journey.
In a year, I was on the job market three times.
I would apply for tons of jobs and get few (or zero) responses. I was regularly ghosted by recruiters and got used to receiving one rejection email after another.
However, I never gave up. Eventually, I landed three recruiting jobs at top tech companies in the Greater Seattle area.
My purpose-driven Recruitment Experience
Steve Jobs once said: “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backward.”
I studied Global Marketing at the University of Washington and never thought that one day what I learned in school would help me become a successful Business & Marketing Recruiter at top tech companies like The Pokémon Company International, Amazon, and Redfin.
In my recruitment career, I’ve supported various departments and recruited diverse roles in different regions, including Marketing, Project Management, Operation, Localization, Sales, and Engineering.
At The Pokémon Company International, I partnered with 30+ business and marketing hiring managers to recruit top talent for roles ranging from entry-level to director-level positions. This experience gave me deep insight into the recruitment process and allowed me to master the behind-the-scenes strategies that companies use to identify and hire exceptional candidates.
My Awakening Entrepreneur Moment
In 2020, the pandemic hit. The high unemployment rate in the job market made me realize that I needed to do something more than just my day job.
During that challenging time, I conducted tons of calls with professionals who had been laid off, recent graduates, immigrants, and early-career talents to provide them with recruitment insight and job search strategy.
Seeing the overwhelming need for people all over the world to suddenly secure new employment, I started to share daily job search tips and recruiters’ insights on LinkedIn.
When I received hundreds of messages describing how my content made a positive impact in their career, I knew it was time to follow my passion for helping job seekers awaken their power and make their next big move.
Now, as a Business & Marketing Career Consultant, I’m on a mission to empower job seekers with recruitment insights and personalized job search strategies, helping them awaken their full potential to land their dream jobs.
I come from a sunshine city in Taiwan and am still trying to adapt to the gloomy Seattle weather.
My name, Lydia, was inspired by a song in Taiwan called “Lydia” about a woman who had been hurt but still had the power to pursue her dream.
I’m fluent in four languages. (Okay, officially only English and Mandarin, but we’ll count two other Taiwanese dialects anyway.) I’m currently learning Spanish!
Traveling is a big passion of mine, and I have already visited 16 different countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Nepal, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Iceland, Peru, Vietnam, and the UK.
I have an adventurous side and love to push my limits—I have been skydiving (despite my fear of heights) and scuba diving (despite my fear of water) in Australia.
